Terms & Conditions

By accessing or using NationSetu ("Platform", "we", "us", or "our"), including our website, Android application (Google Play Store), iOS application (Apple App Store), and related services (collectively, "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

NationSetu is operated by Pragati Booster Tech Venture

2.1 Minimum Age — 18 Years

• You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account on NationSetu. As a platform for social, civic, and good-governance participation, our minimum age is aligned with India's voting age of 18 — the age at which citizens exercise their civic rights.
• In jurisdictions where a higher minimum age applies, you must meet that local requirement.
• We verify your age at signup by collecting your date of birth. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

2.2 No Accounts for Minors

NationSetu is not designed for or directed at anyone under 18. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will promptly suspend the account and delete all associated personal data. The date of birth you provide is used solely to enforce this 18+ requirement and is stored in encrypted form.

The Local Government Directory (LGD) data displayed on NationSetu is obtained from official government portals and publicly available records. Although we make reasonable efforts to maintain accuracy, we do not warrant the completeness, reliability, or timeliness of the information provided. Users are advised to independently verify any such data before relying on it for important or critical decisions.

4.1 Registration

• You register using your phone number with OTP-based authentication, or with a username and password. In either case you provide your date of birth so we can confirm you meet the 18+ minimum age. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account.
• You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to or use of your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in suspicious activity.

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you post on NationSetu. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, distribute, and promote your content in connection with the Platform's operations (e.g., showing posts in feeds, trending sections, and promotional materials).

5.2 Prohibited Content

You agree NOT to post, upload, or share content that:

• Is illegal, defamatory, obscene, hateful, threatening, or harassing.
• Promotes violence, terrorism, self-harm, or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, caste, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
• Contains misinformation or disinformation intended to mislead the public.
• Infringes upon intellectual property rights, trademarks, or copyrights of others.
• Contains spam, unsolicited promotions, phishing links, or malware.
• Impersonates another person, entity, or public official.
• Violates any applicable laws or regulations in India or your jurisdiction.

5.3 Content Moderation

We reserve the right to review, remove, or restrict any content that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable laws — without prior notice. Repeat violators may have their accounts permanently suspended.

Reporting and abuse response. Every post and comment can be reported from within the app, and you can block any user so their content and interactions no longer reach you. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. We act on flagged content and reports of abusive users within 24 hours — removing the content and, where warranted, ejecting the user who provided it.

5.4 Third-Party News & Links

NationSetu may display links to news articles and reports published by third-party news organisations, tagged to your local area or constituency. For these items we show only the headline, a short factual summary, the publisher's name, and (where available) a thumbnail — together with a link to the publisher's own website where the full article can be read.

• We do not reproduce or host the full text of third-party articles. All rights in the original articles remain with their respective publishers, who are credited on every item.
• Selecting a news item takes you to the publisher's own website; the article is governed by that publisher's terms and privacy policy, not ours.
• Headlines and summaries are shown for the purpose of news reporting and to help readers discover relevant local coverage. Publishers may ask us to remove or stop linking to their content at any time by contacting us.
• Some news placements may be sponsored or promoted; where this is the case we label them clearly (see Section 9).

NationSetu features a unique engagement-based content promotion system. Posts begin at your local governance level (e.g., Panchayat, Ward) and can rise to broader levels (Block, District, State, Country) based on community engagement. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

• Content promotion is determined by organic community engagement and algorithmic assessment.
• We do not guarantee that any content will reach higher governance levels.
• Artificial manipulation of engagement (bots, fake accounts, coordinated inauthentic behaviour) is strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension.

• NationSetu may offer Verified membership features and verification badges. Eligibility criteria and pricing will be communicated within the Platform.
• The Verified membership application process collects additional personal information including your full name, email, phone, occupation, organisation, city, state, and optional social media profile links (Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube). This information is used solely for verification purposes.
• Verification does not imply endorsement by NationSetu. It indicates that the account has been verified as authentic.
• Verified memberships are subject to the billing, cancellation, and refund terms in Section 8. We reserve the right to modify Verified membership features and pricing with reasonable notice.

8.1 Billing & Auto-Renewal

• Paid memberships are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly, as selected at checkout) through our payment partner Razorpay, using UPI Autopay / e-mandate or other supported payment methods. All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
• Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it. We may revise plan pricing with reasonable advance notice; revised prices apply only from your next billing period.

8.2 Free Trial

• Plans may include a free trial period (for example, a 7-day launch trial). To activate the trial, a nominal mandate-registration amount (typically ₹1, usually auto-reversed by your bank) may be collected at checkout to set up autopay. The full plan amount is charged automatically only when the trial ends.
• You may cancel at any time during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription is cancelled immediately and the plan amount is never charged.
• If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the plan amount is auto-debited and your paid subscription begins.

8.3 Cancellation

• You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Verified Plans page on the website or in our mobile apps.
• If you cancel after a paid billing period has started, the cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep access to all Verified membership features until then, and no further renewal charges are made.

8.4 Refunds

• Once a paid billing period has begun, subscription payments are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law. Cancelling mid-period does not entitle you to a refund or credit for the unused remainder of that period.
• One-time passes are non-refundable once activated.
• If you believe you were charged in error (for example, a duplicate or failed-but-debited payment), contact us at support@nationsetu.com. Verified erroneous charges will be refunded to your original payment method, typically within 5–7 business days of approval.
• If a subscription is purchased through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store in the future, refunds and cancellations for those purchases are additionally governed by the respective store's policies.

9.1 Our Integrated Advertising System

NationSetu operates an integrated advertising system to support the free operation of the Platform:

• NationSetu Ads (Own Platform): Our proprietary advertising platform serves custom ads including banner ads, in-feed promoted content, and sidebar advertisements. Geo-contextual targeting uses state and district codes to show locally relevant advertisements.
• Google Ads / AdMob / AdSense: We integrate with Google's advertising ecosystem. Google AdMob serves ads in our mobile apps; Google AdSense serves ads on our website.
• Facebook / Meta Audience Network: We integrate with Meta's advertising platform to serve display ads across both web and mobile applications.

9.2 Ad Targeting

• NationSetu is an 18+ platform, so all ads are served to a verified-adult audience. Ads may be contextual (based on the content being viewed) or interest-based (based on your activity and preferences) across all integrated ad platforms. You can opt out of interest-based advertising as described in our Privacy Policy.
• We do not knowingly serve ads to, or build advertising profiles for, anyone under 18.
• We clearly label all sponsored or promoted content as such ("Ad", "Promoted", or "Sponsored").
• Advertisers do not have access to your personally identifiable information unless you explicitly interact with their content.

9.3 Google Play & Apple App Store Compliance

• We comply with Google Play Developer Program Policies, including the Families Policy, ad SDK certification requirements, and content rating rules (IARC).
• We comply with the Apple App Store Review Guidelines. Our iOS app serves only NationSetu's own first-party contextual ads and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites; if we introduce any third-party ad network on iOS in the future, we will request your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt beforehand.
• We use only certified ad SDKs (such as Google AdMob) that meet COPPA and GDPR requirements for data privacy.
• Ad content served within the app is appropriate for the app's declared content rating.

9.4 Advertiser Obligations

• Advertisers on NationSetu must comply with our Advertising Standards, which prohibit ads that are misleading, fraudulent, discriminatory, or promote illegal products/services.
• Political ads and social issue ads require disclosure and authorisation, following standards similar to Meta's Advertising Standards.
• We reserve the right to reject or remove any advertisement that violates our policies or applicable law.

• The NationSetu name, logo, design, and all proprietary content are owned by Pragati Booster Tech Venture and protected by intellectual property laws.
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of our proprietary materials without written permission.
• If you believe content on the Platform infringes your intellectual property, contact us at support@nationsetu.com with relevant details, or use Report → Copyright or trademark infringement on the post itself. Notices are reviewed under our notice-and-takedown process; the uploader may respond, and repeat infringers lose their account.

11.1 Account Deactivation

• You may deactivate your account at any time through the Settings page.
• Upon deactivation, your profile and content become hidden from other users immediately.
• You have a 30-day grace period to reactivate your account by logging back in.
• After 30 days without reactivation, your account and all associated personal data are permanently deleted.

11.2 Immediate Account Deletion

• You may request immediate deletion through the Data Deletion page, the Settings page, or by emailing support@nationsetu.com.
• Upon a verified deletion request, we will permanently delete your personal data within 30 calendar days.

11.3 Platform-Initiated Termination

• We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account for violations of these Terms, with or without prior notice.
• Upon termination, your licence to use the Platform ceases immediately. Content you posted may continue to exist in anonymised form or cached versions.

• The Platform is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
• User-generated content reflects the views of individual users and does not represent the views of NationSetu or Pragati Booster Tech Venture.
• We are not responsible for any decisions, actions, or outcomes arising from content viewed on the Platform.
• We are not responsible for third-party advertisements served through Google, Facebook, or other integrated ad platforms.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pragati Booster Tech Venture and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or reputation.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pragati Booster Tech Venture and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

• These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
• Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
• Before initiating legal proceedings, parties agree to attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the Platform or through in-app and push notifications. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
